“I have been taking yoga classes taught by Lisa for over 10 years. She is an experienced, extremely knowledgeable, intuitive and imaginative teacher. One always leaves class refocused, released, more aware and having gained extra knowledge of one’s body.” ~ Ayr Hollenbery
“I have been coming to Lisa for several years for yoga classes and feel blessed to have found her. Lisa is ‘the real thing’ when it comes to yoga – not only is she incredibly knowledgeable about the postures and their benefits and extremely attentive to everyone’s physical needs and abilities, but she combines this technical knowledge with a down-to-earth understanding of the spiritual side of yoga and how it is relevant to us in our everyday lives. You can come into the class stressed, sad, anxious…and leave with the weight of your worries removed from your shoulders, and your body feeling light and rejuvenated. Her classes are a safe haven, a warm and welcoming place to get in touch with your body and nurture your mental and physical self. The classes are sometimes demanding and other times restorative; Lisa is completely tuned in to the needs of her students and we all find our place in her wonderful classes.” ~ Clare Cantor
“Three years ago I was diagnosed with cancer. Lisa’s support through this time was invaluable not just physically but mentally. She seemed to read what I needed at a time when I was both confused and depressed. She was able to guide me to a ‘still’ point in myself. She did this with her own innate wisdom and with the knowledge she gained from a course she did on working with people who have or have had cancer. Her understanding of using the breath as an anchor was particularly helpful. She is an outstanding teacher and guide. I am most grateful.” ~ Yvonne Saville
“I started seeing Lisa in late 2016 after tension in my body had started to cause chronic back pain and migraines. I had also been recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, a condition which causes widespread aches and pains, anxiety and fatigue. Physiotherapy and massage had been useful but I was looking for something that had a longer-term and more rounded impact on my stress levels and symptoms.
Yoga had been recommended to me as a good option, but as a complete beginner and unfit I was wary of attending group classes. I met Lisa by complete chance at this time and it’s not an overstatement to say that it was a lifesaving moment. She offered one-to-one sessions in her home, was familiar with my condition, and has been genuinely committed to getting tangible results.
Her approach is holistic, but addresses specific issues. Breathing techniques and specific yoga poses have helped reduce pain and allow me to better manage my stress. She has also taught me correct stretches and movements to ease pain when it strikes, which has reduced my need for painkillers and had a positive impact on my overall wellbeing.
Lisa has been patient, supportive and encouraging. I would not hesitate in recommending her.” ~ Claudia, May 2017
“I have been practicing yoga with Lisa for many years. I know her to be an instructor with a breadth of knowledge in yogic practice and meditations. I find that her classes are based on her openness and her observation of each student in an incredibly intuitive way – a way which places the energy on a personal level, that flows into a practice that is remarkably creative as well as challenging; merging the body, mind and spirit in a way that feels that it has been designed for you personally.” ~ Lachele Carl
“Lisa has been my yoga guru for over 10 years. She is wise and wonderful and has helped me through injury and heartache, and guided me toward awareness, peace and mobility. My daughter, who is 13, has started going to Yoga with Lisa and she says that it helps her so much with her stress about school and friends.” ~ Lou Saka
“I originally started taking private yoga lessons with Lisa to help counter the effects of all the high-intensity sports I do. I’m a very active man, swimming, weight-training and running daily. My muscles were tight and I knew I needed to become more supple to avoid injuries, and I’d also heard that yoga could enhance my sports performance. Yoga with Lisa has helped me achieve all of those things and more – she immediately tapped into my individual needs. I have quite a stressful job and I didn’t realise the impact it was having on me – but with the breathing techniques Lisa has taught me, and the focus I apply to my yoga practice, I am now able to enter a ‘stress-free’ zone at will, which in turn, means I can perform better at work. In short, Lisa has equipped me with an incredibly valuable set of tools, for which I am very grateful.” ~ Kyri Spyrou
